Ingredients

Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts 2 large or 4 small
Seasoning Blend
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil For cooking
  • 1 lemon quartered For searing and enhancing flavor
  • 1 tbsp dried basil Aromatic herb
  • 1 tbsp dried dill Herbal flavor enhancer
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano Robust flavor
  • 0.5 tbsp paprika Adds color and depth
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder Essential for flavor
  • 1 tsp salt Enhances flavors
  • 1 tsp black pepper Adjust to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the dried basil, dill, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly blended.
  2. Carefully butterfly both large chicken breasts by slicing them all the way through, allowing you to end up with four thinly sliced chicken breasts. Alternatively, you can leave the chicken breasts whole and gently pound them with a meat mallet to thin them.
  3. Generously coat the chicken breasts with the seasoning blend on both sides. For optimal flavor, refrigerate the chicken for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the avocado oil. Wait until the oil is hot and shimmering.
  2. Carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts into the skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Once the chicken is done, remove it to a plate. In the same skillet, add the quartered lemon wedges and sear them for about 30 seconds.
  4. Squeeze the seared lemon over the chicken for a burst of citrusy freshness before serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavor. Consider grilling for a healthier option. Adjust spices to taste, and garnish with fresh herbs.
