Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk until well blended.
- Add in the cubed butter and work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture together and transfer it to the freezer.
- Slice the strawberries and place them in a separate bowl. Add the cornstarch, sugar, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to coat.
Assembly & Baking
- Arrange the strawberry mixture at the bottom of an 8-inch baking pan and sprinkle the chilled crumble topping over the strawberries.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the juices are bubbling. Cover with aluminum foil if the topping darkens too quickly.
Serving
- Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm, topped with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use farm-fresh strawberries when in season for the best flavor. Feel free to experiment with other berries and add oats or nuts to the crumble for added texture.
