Ingredients

For the filling
  • 6 oz Cream cheese (softened) Provides a rich, decadent texture
  • 1/4 cup Sugar Sweetens the mixture and balances the tartness
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds a warm, aromatic essence
For the pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (thawed) Offers a flaky and crispy exterior
  • 5 Strawberry (sliced in half lengthwise) Brings freshness and a pop of color
  • Powdered sugar – to dust on top Adds a sweet finishing touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Thaw the puff pastry according to the instructions on the box.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well until creamy and smooth.
  4. Lay the thawed pastry sheet on your work surface and cut it into 9 equal squares.
  5. Fold each square over edge to edge to form a triangle and cut a V-shape on both sides without cutting all the way through.
  6. Rotate the triangle 90 degrees and fold the top flap over itself towards the bottom, then fold the other top flap over to the top.
  7. Add a tablespoon of the cream cheese filling into the center and top with a slice of strawberry.
  8. Transfer the pastries onto the lined baking sheet, spaced apart.
Baking
  1. Bake the pastries for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor. Consider adding lemon or almond extract for variation. Keep the pastry cold to maintain its texture.
