Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Coat the cut-up chicken pieces in cornstarch, ensuring each piece is well-covered for a crispy texture.
- Refrigerate the coated chicken for about 30 minutes to help the cornstarch adhere.
Sauce Preparation
- Mix the soy sauce, chicken broth, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, ground ginger, and white and crushed red peppers in a small bowl until well-combined.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken in small batches until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Drain excess oil and add the prepared sauce along with the fried chicken. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serving
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve the sticky chicken over a bed of fried rice.
Notes
For an even crispier finish, double fry the chicken. If you have leftovers, save the sauce separately to maintain crispiness.
