Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups fresh chopped strawberries These luscious berries bring vibrant color and sweet flavor.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Sweetener that balances the tartness of strawberries.
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier Liqueur or lemon juice Adds a zesty, aromatic quality.

Method

Preparation
  1. Place two small, clean plates in the freezer for testing the jam's consistency.
Cooking
  1. In a large, deep skillet, combine the chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, and Grand Marnier (or lemon juice). Heat on medium until it begins to boil.
  2. Skim off most of the foam that forms at the top for a smoother texture.
  3. Cook and stir the mixture for about 10 minutes until it starts to thicken.
  4. Remove a cold plate from the freezer and place a spoonful of the jam on it. Wait 30 seconds, then tilt the plate to check consistency.
  5. Repeat the testing every two minutes until the desired thickness is achieved.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and allow it to cool at room temperature before refrigerating.
  2. Store the jam in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.

Notes

Add a pinch of salt for deeper flavor, or reserve some strawberries for a chunkier texture. You can also experiment with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
