Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Grease a 9x5 loaf pan with either butter or oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars and mix until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the creamed mixture. Blend until fully incorporated.
  4. Sift the all-purpose flour and baking soda into the bowl. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. In a separate bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon to prepare the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Layering
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
  2. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture, swirling gently again.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-70 minutes, until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  3. Let the bread cool to room temperature before slicing and serving.
