Ingredients

For the pie
  • 1 9-inch 9-inch pie crust A crisp, buttery base that holds the delicious fillings together.
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate Rich and decadent, this chocolate adds a deep flavor that perfectly complements the bananas.
  • 2 Tablespoons milk Creamy and smooth, it helps melt the chocolate to create a luscious layer.
  • 2 Tablespoons butter Adds richness and helps create that silky texture.
  • 2-3 pieces bananas (sliced) Juicy and sweet, bananas offer a fresh contrast to the chocolate.
  • 1.5 cups cold milk Essential for the pudding, it gives a refreshing chill to the pie.
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding Creamy and aromatic, it brings a comforting sweetness to each bite.
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Luxuriously thick and fluffy.
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar Adds sweetness and stabilizes the whipped cream.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate, milk, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until the mixture is melted and smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the cold milk and instant vanilla pudding according to the package directions. Once combined, place the bowl in the fridge for about 5 minutes to allow the pudding to set up.
Assembly
  1. Spread the melted chocolate over the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust. Then, arrange the banana slices in a single layer atop the chocolate.
  2. Spread the prepared pudding evenly over the bananas, followed by another layer of banana slices on top.
Whipping Cream
  1. Using an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form. Carefully spread this fluffy cream over the top of the pie.
Chill
  1. Place the assembled pie in the fridge and let it set for at least 2 hours. For the best flavor and texture, serve it within 24 hours.

Notes

You can prepare the chocolate layer and pudding a day in advance for easy assembly. To prevent bananas from browning, toss them in a bit of lemon juice before adding them to the pie. For added flavor, fold in vanilla extract or cocoa powder into the whipped cream.
